I’m sorry but Trudeau is not the world’s saviour. He represents the status quo in Canada, and is a neoliberal shill. Its fine to praise Trudeau when he does something right, but this, this kind of god like worship of him isn’t ok.

Yeah, the bar is so low right now, even amongst Canadian politicians, that it’s easy to get caught up in the furor. I certainly don’t want the Conservatives to get back into power, but it would be really nice if Trudeau could be the person the media presents him as.

Man found the stoplight cameras were activated during yellow lights and decided to cut the wires of it.

hero

STOP SCROLLING!!! Please take a moment to read the article about what this man is doing, the criminals he is exposing, and the deaths of so many poor and middle class families at the hands of the greedy. Yellow lights with Xerox cameras were shortened from 5 seconds to 3 seconds in poor and middle class neighborhoods to surprise drivers and generate more revenue. Many deaths ensued. This story is already a couple months old, but there isn’t enough talk about it. Please signal boost this.

Before the Obama Administration announced its intention to lift the ban on trans people serving openly in the military, there were an estimated 12,800 active-duty trans service members in the United States military. Since the announcement, that number likely has increased dramatically.
.
Overall, trans people statistically are more likely to have served in the military than the rest of the population, with one study suggesting a rate of trans participation of 21% compared with 11% of the general population.
.
On July 26, 2017, the current U.S. president announced that the military will “not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity.”
.
The military, according to the statement, “must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.”

All do respect to Chelsea, I wanna see some proposed solutions for this

1.) Reduce active troop levels; scale back the number of US FOBs; start a major new BRAC round; cancel or scale back wasteful vehicle, weapon, and systems programs; stop going to war every 4 years; reduce foreign military aid; reform military acquisition procedures; abolish the CIA and replace it with a strictly intelligence-gathering organization; shrink the NSA; reduce spending on wasteful and ineffective anti-terrorism programs; demilitarize local police forces; shift to a rehabilitative model of criminal justice; etc.

2.) Redirect estimated annual savings into a mandatory annual funding stream for Medicare’s trust funds

3.) Use the new funding to expand Medicare

We are appalled by President Trump’s tweets about banning transgender people from military service. There are an estimated 15,000 transgender people already working in the Department of Defense, putting their lives on the line to protect our nation and its values. Those values do not include the heartlessness exhibited by Mr. Trump this morning. Discrimination has no place in our government, in our workplaces, our schools, or anywhere else in our lives.

While it’s still unclear what the actual policy ramifications of these tweets will be, we recommend keeping up with (and, if you can, donating to) the ACLU and the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund

You can also directly tell the president how unacceptable his attack on American servicepersons is by using this form provided by the @transgenderfreedomproject.

We know there will be plenty of conversation about this on Tumblr in the coming days, and we urge you to take this moment to support and educate each other in whatever ways you can. And if you just need someone to talk to right now, there are people here to listen, 24 hours a day, seven days a week:
