Sunken Warship Vasa- Stockholm, Sweden: November 2015. 17th century Flagship of the Swedish Fleet, sunk in 1628 during the maiden voyage. Recovered in 1961 and preserved.
I will never get over Vasa. She sunk only 1,300 meters after leaving port, 120m from the shore, on a clear day, in front of the horrified public. Why? She was constructed with her center of gravity so high that it only took a gust to put her lower gunports under water. (Why they were open in the first place is a whole other question.)
@nithela remember when we saw the good girl
