An earthquake killed more than 200 people in Kurdistan, around 5000 are injured. According to Iranian media, several villages were destroyed in the earthquake. The earthquake was felt in the entire region from Kuwait to Northern Kurdistan cities. Local media says the death toll is likely to rise, especially in the eastern part of Kurdistan.

Iran’s semi-official Isna news agency raised the death toll to 328.
Sarpol-e Zahab in Kermanshah has only one hospital, which was demolished in this incident. All patients and hospital staff have been buried beneath the rubble.
The health ministry put out a call for emergency blood donations. So far, 360 people were reported to have died. The Iranian government reported that at least 70,000 citizens would need shelter.
