I’ve been living in Maryland six months now and honestly I don’t know what the deal is but they love blue crabs here so much? There are crab shacks on every corner. There are state flag stickers in the shape of crabs on every car. They’re on license plates and t-shirts and store fronts. Go into any shop, literally any shop. I don’t mean just the tourist traps or quaint old downtown districts, I mean any shop. Crabs are on everything. Oven mitts, pottery, burgers. you name it. I went to a community picnic and instead of hot dogs or BBQ it was fucking crabs. They gave me a mallet and dumped a hot crab on my paper plate like it was normal. Like what the fuck Maryland, I lived in Texas before this and even the Lone Star fanaticism wasn’t this intense.
